Going with the Flow

‘The wise one never takes a step too long for her leg.’
Kemetic Proverb

This week has been rather ‘otherworldly.’ I'm not talking about extra-terrestrial encounters with other beings. I'm talking about computers not cooperating with what should have been very simple transactions, missing my first medical appointment of two because I wanted to be sure I had not left the pot cooking on the stove.  Only to get there and find out the second appointment was supposed to have been cancelled and be ushered into the first appointment even though I was an hour late.  I needed to know the truth about the motives of a person I was thinking about doing some study with.  They are a fine person, but I wasn't comfortable with the way they do business.  Sure enough, one complete interaction made it clear, clear, clear -- that my intuition was on target -- as usual -- and no, I do not need to work with this individual.  It was a struggle to keep from stressing about each situation, but I managed to stay pretty well centered and trusting that never-failing Voice within.

Once again all my needs were Divinely cared for!

I thought these quirky circumstances, and others of the week, might just be the effects of the glories of the ongoing process of maturation.   But then I read something that said Mercury was in retrograde, and that made a lot more sense!  Something beyond this everyday worldly experience MUST be what’s behind this plethora of hold ups, confusion and unexpected changes!

Whatever was going on, or is going on, it occurred to me to ask, ‘What is the lesson to be learned here?’

The more I tried to push through, the more things, people and circumstances pushed back.

Finally, I realized that the lesson was to go with the flow.  My task was to relax.

Sometimes I tend to try to step ‘too long’ for my leg.  Then life reminds me to pull back, to remember that smaller steps are ok , to let go and go with the flow.

Sounds so simple!

Letting go can feel pretty risky at times.  Imagining that we are in control of people, places or things can create the illusion that we actually are. We are not. What a weight it is to carry this kind of load!  It is too much.  A ‘step too long for our leg.’

So the most wonderful aspect of going with the flow, is the freedom that results from it.  When we let go, and go with the flow, there is such relief and energy to focus on other things!

We continue to remember Auset.  And the process she must have gone through as she acutalized her purpose on the earth.  Surely, letting go of all that had gone wrong in her life was an excruciating experience.  And yet, she would not have been able to move on if she had not come to the point of being able to do so.

This is a lesson we may find ourselves learning over and over again as we move through the human experience.  It is a good one, carrying us ever deeper into the purposes of God for us and for the world.

Thank goodness for the wisdom that continues to come with trust in the Loving Being who watches over us and helps us to remember God’s divine flow carries us exactly where we need to go, meeting every need along the way.  Our task is to align with that Divine flow, to trust in it, and to relax.

What do you do to go with the flow and relax?
