Grounded In The Universe

Our Story

We began as a community of wounded healers, having journeyed on our own through institutional traumas, life lessons, and challenges, some of us felt as if we were lost -broken, searching for inner peace, and guidance that seemed almost impossible to find. Some of us, though excellent at healing others, found that it was we who needed to be healed.

Guided by Spirit we found one another and discovered the power of sharing our sage wisdom - a wisdom that stretched us beyond the traditional trappings of religion, and called us to the divine ways given to us through our ancestors. Finding very few spaces for us to be healed, to share sage wisdom, and to practice spiritual disciplines we created our own.

Over the last several years, walking together we found that our own wounds were healed and know that our work now consists of offering the sacred teachings which have lifted and supported us to other women of color around the world.

Our Unique Approach

Our insights led us individually, to practices such as meditation, Mudras, self-love practices, living mindfully, the sacred movement of Qigong, the study of Ancient Wisdom/Storytelling and others. We have found these practices to be nurturing and healing to our bodies, minds, and emotions, while our community with each other brings healing to our souls.

We want you to have what we have found. We imagine other small groups of women learning and sharing the spiritual practices that heal and nurture body, mind and soul. Perhaps, together we can be the beginning of a movement of healed healers through whom God’s healing love is infused throughout the planet.

We offer monthly Spiritual Practice Practicums, teaching a different spiritual practice each month. God brought us together for the times in which we are living to offer our experience and hope to one another and to others. We are living during a time in human history in which it is essential for women of color, particularly women of African descent, to remember who we are as cosmic citizens. As we remember we can heal and reclaim our true identity and the spiritual power within. In this way, we participate in creating a world of justice, wholeness and love for all.

So much of what we do is centered on helping others. We pour into and invest in the spiritual growth, dreams, goals, and projects of our loved ones, our colleagues, and even strangers in the communities we live and work in. We do all of this at a cost and sometimes to our detriment. This teaching will focus on how we can tap back into our own souls. Celebrating the unique and beautiful way that each of us has been made is essential. Journaling, mirror-work, and self-affirmations are powerful tools that we can use to do this. Join me and the Spirit Quest Village team as we embark on this important journey together.
