So What IS Spiritual Freedom?

We’ve been talking about Auset’s journey for a little while now, and some of what it took for her to decide to go ahead and move herself and her life to the next level.  The next level, meaning - having the inner freedom to continue to choose life.  Spiritual freedom is being in a place where in spite of whatever life may bring, we are free to draw from the unseen power within us to deal with the challenges and losses.  Spiritual freedom is the capacity to focus on what we want instead of focusing on what we don't want - for the good of ourselves and for others!  Spiritual freedom has no need to hold back – our beauty, our power, our wisdom, our metaphysical knowledge, our ability to manifest things, our capacity to do good, to heal and to spread love.  Spiritual freedom is a space or place of existence that is in complete alignment with the Spirit of God – nothing is missing, everything is  complete – and that is all there is.  So real life continues to be what it is, but we relate to if as if from a different realm, where all that is needed is consistently available for our use.  Some call it Oneness with God, Nirvana, or Bliss.  It’s not that there are no challenges or problems, but we are able to approach them from a different starting point.  I have not yet mastered this state of being, but, I love the journey to getting there!

I see what I believe are the application of some principles of MAAT in Auset’s journey that inspire me to continue on my Journey to Spiritual Freedom.

In fact I believe Auset's Journey reveals 9 Steps of a feminine Quest toward Spiritual Freedom that include the following:

First on the Journey to Spiritual Freedom, Resilience is developed by application of the principles of truth and justice.  Resilience is achieved by

       1.   Acceptance and the principle of Truth

       2.   Forgiveness and the principle of Truth

       3.   Letting Go and the principle of (self) Justice

The Journey to Spiritual Freedom then moves to the process of Self-Realization through

        4.   Re-Discovery of who we are and the principle of Balance (Old Story)

        5.   Re-Membering ourselves with the principle of Balance (New story)

         6.   Inner Marriage and the  principle of Harmony

During the final part of the Journey to Spritual Freedom Intentional Manifestation becomes possible by applying

          7.   Imagination and the principle of Order

           8.   Intention and the principle of Reciprocity

            9.   Manifestation and the principle of Propriety

My experience is that the Journey never really ends because new destinations appear, just when we thought we had ‘arrived.’

My first trip to Africa was to a country called Burundi.  We had to travel from Bumjumbura, where the airport was, to Gitega.  We rode around a mountain for what seemed like hours.  It was magnicfent and beautifully lush and green.  We would come round  a bend, and I would think, surley we are almost at the top now!  But we would go a little further, and I would see that the top of the mountain was still miles and miles away.  Even after we arrived at  our destination, the peak of the mountain was way beyond where we were.  I had a revelation from that experience – that the trip up that mountain is like God’s love.  Just when we think we are overflowing with good things and blessings, that we have been so lavishly loved that this must surely be all there is – we look up and there is more yet to come.  More good, more blessings, more hope, more help, more love.  And that is my experience of the Journey to Spiritual Freedom.  Just when I been overcome by the depth of God’s presence, awesomeness,  and unconditional love, and think, this must surely be Divine Union the great Spiritual Masters were talking about, I find I’m just on the tip of the iceberg, and that the best is still yet to come!
